Premise of the game
Blackjack is a card game in which you play against the dealer. In order to win you need to get more points than the dealer does without exceeding 21.
In Blackjack Switch, the deck has 52 cards from twos to aces in each suit. The dealer shuffles cards before a game creating a single deck of 416 cards and the player cuts the card. Then the deck is placed in the dealer’s shoe and the dealer cuts the deck with a cut card in the middle. The cut card is a divider that marks part of the deck which will not change. The cards that have just played go out of the game and will get back only when the separator is taken out and a new deck is placed in the dealer's shoe.
Card Values
- Twos to tens count as their values show.
- Jacks, Queens, and Kings count 10.
- aces count either 1 or 11. A player with an ace has a right to choose 11 or 1 depending on the total score. A combination with an ace as 11 is called 'soft'. For example, 'Soft 17' is an ace plus a six. A combination with an ace as 1 is called 'hard'. 'Hard 17' is an ace, a six and a ten.
Bets
In order to start a game, the player has to make a bet at least in one box. In Blackjack Switch the player plays both hands so bets are duplicated. The player can buy up to three boxes with bets from 1 to 200 per each hand in a box.
In order to make a bet you need to click on a corresponding chip and a box or you can drag the chip onto the box. In order to clear a bet, you need to click on the bet with 'Ctrl' pressed. You can clear all bets by pressing 'Cancel'. You can rebet by pressing 'Rebet'
You can also play Super Match by placing a bet in the accordingly-named box.
How to Start a Game
In order to start a game a player has to make bets and press 'Deal'. The dealer draws four cards for each bought box (two for each hand) and only one card for himself (ENHC). All cards are dealt face-up. A two-card combination that counts 21 is called Blackjack. Blackjack is possible after dealing.
Super Match
Super Match is a bet that first four cards in the box will create either Pair, Two Pairs, Three of a Kind, or Four of a Kind. Super Match bets pay depending on the combination:
|
Pays: |
| A Pair |
1 : 1 |
| Three of a Kind |
5 : 1 |
| Two Pairs |
8 : 1 |
| Four of a Kind |
40 : 1 |
If none of the combinations come up, the wager loses.
Super Match bets are additional and cannot be made without a main bet in the box. After Super Match starts the main game itself.
Insurance and the Dealer’s Blackjack
After cards are dealt, the dealer checks his first card. If it is an Ace, the player can insure his bets against the dealer’s possible blackjack.
Insurance is a bet that the dealer will have Blackjack. Each bought box can be insured. Insurance costs half the wager per box. When the player decides whether to insure each of his boxes, the move goes to the player's first box.
If the dealer's first card counts 10, then the dealer may have Blackjack, but in this case the player cannot take insurance.
'Switch'
When starting playing on a box, the player can switch top two cards on both hands. You can switch many times for free as long as no other actions are taken with the box.
The Player’s Blackjack
The player's Blackjacks are paid at the end of the game with all other bets when the dealer's cards are opened. It is so, because the player can create Blackjack (or break one) by switching cards.
At the end of the game the player's Blackjacks are paid at 1 to 1, except when the dealer has Blackjack, too. In this case the player gets back his wager.
If the move goes to the hand with Blackjack and Switch is impossible, the move automatically proceeds to the next hand.
'Double'
The player can double his bet if his combination looks advantageous. The player’s account is charged with an additional amount and he will get one (and only one) extra card. Next the game moves to the next hand.
The player can double the bet if he has two cards in the hand. In this case the number of points does not matter (DOÀ). The player cannot double if he has Blackjack. The player can double after Split (DAS).
'Split'
The player can split a pair of the same-value cards for both hands (for example, two fives or a Jack with a Queen). The new hand gets an additional bet that equals the initial bet in this box. The split hands play and pay as regular boxes with certain restrictions.
- You cannot re-split on split hands.(RSA=1)
- If the player splits aces, he gets only one additional card for each hand.
- A two-card combination counting 21 is not Blackjack on a split hand.
When split, either hand has one card. Another card is dealt automatically after splitting. If the hand counts 21, the move goes to the other hand. If the hand counts under 21, then the player can either draw cards by pressing 'Deal' or stand by pressing 'Stand'
'Stand'
If the player is satisfied with his current combination or he is afraid to go bust, he can stop and refrain from drawing more cards. The combination is set for the following comparison with the dealer’s and the game moves to the next hand.
'Deal'
If the player thinks that he needs more points, he can draw another card by pressing 'Deal'. The dealer will give him one more card to the current hand. The player can repeat this action as long as the hand is lower than 21 points, but one should always remember about going bust.
Bust
When the player draws another card and the hand counts over 21, the hand loses and the wager goes to the casino. The game moves to the next hand.
When all the player’s boxes are drawn, it is the dealer’s turn to play.
The Dealer’s Rules
The dealer’s rules are simple and they do not depend on the player’s combinations. The dealer has to draw another card if he has less than 17 points or soft 17. The dealer has to stand as soon as he has hard 17 (H17). Exception is made when there are no more player’s bets on the table (they are either lost or paid). In this case, the dealer shows his second card and the game is over.
Comparison of Combinations
After the dealer draws his cards, both the player’s and dealer’s hands are compared.
First of all the dealer's hand is checked for Blackjacks:
- If the dealer has Blackjack, all insurances pay 2 to 1. The player's wagers with Blackjacks return to the player. The others lose.
- If the dealer does not have Blackjack, all insurances lose. The player's Blackjacks pay 1 to 1; the other hands are compared.
- If the dealer busts, then all remaining bets win and pay 1 to 1 with one small exception: if the dealer has 22 points, all the player's remaining bets return to the player unpaid.
- If the player’s current hand counts more than the dealer’s, then the current bet pays 1 to 1.
- If the dealers hand and the player’s hand count the same, then there is Push and the player gets back his bet.
- If the player’s current hand counts lower than the dealer’s, then the bet loses and goes to the casino.
Once all bets are paid, the dealer collects the cards out of the game and the player can start another game.
